Session 11

Heroes: Aelarion, Broil, Oculor, Sengar.

In order to completely exterminate the Twisted Branch tribe and save the few human survivors, the Heroes need only face a few sentinel harpies, and the lizardfolk Kobatas, the right hand of the dead king.

With this feat complete, they reach a hidden room where the eggs of the Lizardfolks are kept. Strangely enough, the eggs are guarded by kobolds with draconic blood. Once the guardians are taken care of, the Heroes find a dragon egg among all the others. Oculor stabs the dragon egg with his dagger, and the container explodes, revealing thousands of tiny green worms, who rapidly infect the lizardfolk eggs, producing hundreds of Kyuss spawnling.

The Heroes purge the place, but Oculor and Aelarion are severely wounded; they drink a few of the healing potions found in the lair, but too late they realize that the darkened glass vials contain a green worm! With the infection slowly spreading into their bodies, they hurry back to Blackwall Keep.

There they find the soldiers in a state of panic: somehow an infected lizardfolk must have entered the keep, and now two soldiers have become mostrous spawn of Kyuss, stalking the dark corridors of the keep. The Heroes hunt the creatures down and destroy them, but only after both Sengar and Broil have been infected with green worms.

Thanks to his arcane knowledge, Aelarion realizes that the worm infecting them will take a few days before turning them into spawns, and the only cure is a healing ritual. Hoping to find priestly magic in Diamond Lake, the Heroes' race against time begins!

Session 10

Heroes: Aelarion, Broil, Oculor, Sengar.

The surviving soldiers inform the Heroes that a warparty of lizardfolk has kidnapped a few of their companions, including Marzena, one of the keep's mages.

The Heroes follow the warpaty's track deep into the Mistmarsh, eventually reaching the lair of the Twisted Branch tribe. There they must fight their way through a couple of disgusting otyugh, slaughter more of the lizardfolk, and eventually face Shukak, the king of the tribe.

With the death of the king, the tribe shaman, holding Marzena prisoner, tries to strike a deal with the Heroes to help him become the new king, in exchange for Marzena's life. He also reveals informations about a pact between the tribe and a dragon going by the name of Ilthane: apparently there's a connection between the dragon and the green worms sprouting from the corpses of some lizardfolk. The Heroes, enraged by the lizardfolk attack at the keep, refuse the deal, and slaughter the shaman before he has a chance to kill Marzena.

Having noticed the presence of the weird green worms also here in the lair, and willing to investigate Ilthane's involvement, the Heroes hide Marzena in a safe place, and continue in their exploration.

Session 9

Heroes: Aelarion, Broil, Oculor, Sengar.

The Heroes report their findings to Allustan, who in the meanwhile has been studying the relics they brought back from their forays into the Whispering Cairn.

They decide to follow the lead pointing them to the Mistmarsh, planning to stop on their way at Blackwall Keep, where Allustan is to meet an old friend of his.

But when they arrive at the keep, they find it under siege from a tribe of Lizardfolk from the Mistmarsh. Allustan uses a magic scroll to teleport back to Diamond Lake, to alert the garrison of the peril, and bring back reinforcements.

The Heroes decide to assault the Lizardfolk, slaughtering them in great numbers, and eventually routing them. They then enter the keep, to check on the survivors.
