The Heroes travel to the Great Rift, where they witness a veritable dragon army flying up in the sky, bound to the giant fortress of Kongen-thulnir.
When they also arrive, they find the giant guardians of the fortress besieged by the dragons. The Heroes try to offer their help, but the giants are deaf to their plights, so they're forced to fight on two fronts, against both giants and dragons.
As they make their way through the battlefield, they manage to kill two of the leaders of the dragon invading force: Necrozyte, a fiendish green dragon, and the deadly fang dragon Xyzanth.
